What is The ‘Blooms’ Project?
This is my weekly painting project for 2024 which will be alongside my usual work. Even though I absolutely LOVE doing my big detailed oil paintings I sometimes feel like being much more relaxed and carefree with my art so for 2024 I set aside some time each week to put this into action. These ‘Little Collectibles’ will be available for purchase here on my website every Thursday.

Last year I chose an iconic bottle of Chanel No.5 to paint 52 different ways but this year I will be portraying flowers. My inspiration may come from different art movements, famous paintings, famous artists as well as trying out techniques that I wouldn’t normally do. Each piece will be 210mm square and by selecting a single theme it means that I HAVE to change how I paint it and will push all the boundaries by creating over 50 styles! I am hoping that I may discover techniques and ideas I can adopt in my main artistic practice too. 😊 Feel free to suggest ideas you think would be interesting to see me try.
