For artists with some experience who already know the basics and are ready to deepen their skills. Working in either oils or acrylics, you’ll explore the foundations of colour that truly elevate a painting from good to exceptional.
COLOUR WORKSHOP PART 1: ALL ABOUT COLOUR
COST: $140
DATE: Saturday 25 April 10am – 2.30pm (4 hrs + half hour break for lunch)
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
All of your acrylics OR oils (odourless solvent if using oils)
Selection of brushes
Old or new paintings to discuss
Food / snax for short lunch break
This PART 1 colour workshop is a deep dive into the world of colour for painters who want to strengthen their understanding and sharpen their control of colour in their work. We’ll explore the major aspects of colour in a practical, hands‑on way - including colour terminology, colour bias, warm and cool relationships, value, mixing clean colours, and understanding the colour wheel. Throughout the session you’ll work through a series of guided exercises, tips, and techniques designed to improve your colour confidence and expand your creative options. Bring your paintings you’ve completed or works currently in progress and at the end of the class we’ll spend time discussing your pieces and, if time allows, apply your new colour knowledge directly to your own artwork.

DATE: Saturday 2 May | 10am - 2.30pm (4 hrs + half hour break for lunch)
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
All of your acrylics OR oils (odourless solvent if using oils)
Selection of brushes
Old or new paintings to work on
Food / snax for short lunch break
This PART 2 session is all about really looking at colour. Bring along an existing painting or start something new — we’ll work directly on your artwork, explore practical colour decisions, and troubleshoot any challenges together. It’s a great way to solidify your learning and see immediate improvements in your painting.
